The Invisible Enemy of Continuous Improvement: Reward Culture. Belief, Not Rewards, Motivates.
Kaizen means continuous, small, and sustainable improvement, and it is more a mindset than a method. Instead of radical changes, it encourages simple steps that employees can own. Kaizen initiatives often fail when intrinsic motivation is replaced by material rewards. Reward-based systems weaken the improvement culture over time. True Kaizen success depends on internal motivation, participation, and embedding improvement as a shared organizational culture.
